Safe to say, Gavros, that all the locals are Marseille fans...

Re: Stansted to Marseille - Saturday 6.30amish
I'm out in Lyon from the 17th - 21st June if anyone wants to buy me a beer, also have the following tickets for sale:

2 x Round of Last 16 Tickets. Winner Group D vs Runner Up Group E. 27th June, Paris.

4 x Quarter Final Tickets. 30th June, Marseille.

2 x Semi Final Tickets. 6th July, Lyon.

They’re all category 1 tickets (best seats) and I’m obviously happy to sell at face value!

So was it marseille fans or was it 'locals'

Hope you're not on an Air France flight, Flannel - I've had a nightmare 24 hours trying to find out if our light had been cancelled and trying to arrange an alternative route. Doesn't seem like we need it in the end....

Re: Stansted to Marseille - Saturday 6.30amish
It doesn't happen at "every" tournament at all now. Not these days.

In fact, at Euro 2012, while we were perfect all the way through in Ukraine and had a great time, the Irish were off fighting in Poland (presumably for "the craic").

Inevitable for England in Marseille, but wouldn't have thought it would be too bad otherwise. Although an evening in Saint-Denis could get interesting.

Did the boneheads go looking for a row, or did they stay in a pub and end up having a row when they were attacked?

Nothing will beat the 98 world cup game in Marseille

I imagine trouble between fans and "locals" will be the theme of the tournament

Collyrob jumping on unestablished facts about England fans? Fancy that.

Yep them and Racing in their various guises, including RP1 which caused one of the biggest shocks ever beating a star studded, Papin Waddle, Amoros, Tigana OM 3-2 when complete underdogs in a cup semi final in the 80s an absolutely fantastic night too!

He he. I was just quoting an old (OLD) boy in paris with that line about "They're from Versaille, anyway." He was a Red Star fan of old and I hadn't heard of them until he mentioned them. And yes, good to see them coming back. I think they were THE team from Paris back in the day.

Yeah, total nonsense that Lily I'm afraid.

Stade Saint Germain and PFC merged in the very early 70s.

Attendances dropped off solely as a result of the club getting rid of the various supporters groups. This was around 2010, actually after one of the Boulogne boys was killed by one of the lot from Auteuil.

Bone heads?

Marseilles firm attacked the english.

Re: Stansted to Marseille - Saturday 6.30amish
Nonsense , Its St Germain en Laye to begin with which did a merger with Paric F.C maybe 50 years ago.

Secondly the only time attendances dropped off a little was due to violence inside the ground perpetrated by The Boulogne boys, but aside from that crowds more or less constant.

And It is great to see Red Star from St Ouen doing well again, agreed on that.

I've got a long list on plastic micks I can use Colly!

Just don't sing about Sterling being Jamaican though. Good solid English lad.

Re: Stansted to Marseille - Saturday 6.30amish
Fuck the PSG glory hunters!

Marseille have followed their team though deep, steaming shit. PSG fans have only just crawled back out of the woodwork, once the billions and superstars turned up. They're not even the true paris team; they're from Versaille.

Allez Red Star Paris!

Wouldnt expect anything less from the Marseilles supporters.

Sung first in the 80s but still relevant today

Tapie est un enculé

Papin est un bourrin

Les marseillais sont tous des pd

Ce soir c'est le PSG qui va gagné.

Re: Stansted to Marseille - Saturday 6.30amish
Mate of mine is out there at the moment as well and he said exactly the same thing that the trouble was started by other groups attacking the England fans...but hey lets not let the truth get in the way of a good story. The tabloids love a few plastic chairs being thrown around and then labelling an entire travelling fan base as scum.
